Comprehensive Health Evaluation

Get ready to maximize your health potential. Cenegenics Carolinas shows you how.

Youthful aging begins with a Comprehensive Health Evaluation. More than an overview of your health, the Comprehensive Health Evaluation exposes what’s happening inside your body.

This extremely thorough set of diagnostics establishes your personal hormonal, metabolic and physical baseline.

Your personal Cenegenics Carolinas team-—certified age-management physician and nutrition/exercise counselor—relies on this evidenced-based medical data to create your customized program. Getting real results begins with taking the mystery out of your body. Find out why your metabolism continues to slow and weight management is difficult. Find out what areas your body is deficient in and why it may be connected to fatigue, stress, reduced sex drive, trouble focusing, abdominal weight gain, and more.

The evidence-based data compiled includes:

  • 7 hours total with age management clinicians
  • 2 hour consultation with age management trained physician
  • 2 hour consultation with exercise physiologist and nutritionist
  • Cognitive testing
  • Comprehensive labs pathology
  • Hormone lab panel
  • Body composition exam
  • Body strength and alignment testing
  • Heart rate and lung capacity (VO2 Max)
  • Muscle mass
  • Body fat
  • Bone density

“The Comprehensive Health Evaluation empowers people with information and access to make the right choices for their individual, optimal health. The underlying issue isn’t just taking medication to treat disease. The real focus should be lifestyle changes. Most Americans know they need to lose weight, exercise, eat better and quit smoking. The problem is they don’t understand how to make that happen. Cenegenics’ programs are designed to empower people to make change,” Says Dr. Mickey Barber.

Many of us, particularly the hard driving Type A individuals, claim they need only 6 hours of sleep to be productive. Unfortunately, most are likely fooling themselves. A recent study at the University of California-San Francisco published in Science has identified a genetic mutation that causes individuals to need only 6 hours of sleep nightly. This gene runs in families and only occurs in 3% of individuals.

For the rest of us, 7-8 ½ hours are required for both health and productivity. Most of us are building a large and dangerous sleep debt. Individuals with chronic sleep deprivation are likely to have increased motor vehicle accidents as well as short term memory, focus and attention issues. Depression and inability to control appetite are also associated with inadequate sleep. Lastly, obesity and increased vascular inflammation have been linked to poor sleep quantity and quality. Obviously, adequate sleep is a huge preventive medicine issue.

The good news? Researchers are working on a compound that could mimic the gene mutation. Until then, listen to your mother and get 8 hours of sleep.
